Our group of 4 had an outstanding tour with Valerie. She picked us up at our cruise ship terminal, as promised, and coordinated a full day tour for us, and returned us to our ship on time. I have visited the sites before, and wanted other members of our family to experience the sites, as I had. Valerie provided insights that made the visit even more special. Only downside is that tour must be paid for in cash, with Euros, so just make sure you have this available for payment. I would highly recommend! Thank you, Valerie.

We were so fortunate to be able to book a half day tour in the afternoon of the day we arrived in Bayeux from Paris. We contacted Valerie through email and she responded promptly. Booking with her through her website was easy.
Valerie met us in front of our hotel at the schedule time and our family of four (mom, dad and 12 yo son and 10 yo daughter) got into her comfortable van. She offered us water but we were prepared with our own. We first went to Utah beach, which was about 20 minutes from Bayeux. During the drive Valerie pointed out things to see along the way and provided background and stories about D-Day. She also pointed out the hedgerows and explained why fighting in them was so difficult. She made the car rid so interesting!
Once we arrived at Utah, she brought out her maps and pictures to explain in detail what happened on D-Day. From Utah we went to Pointe Du Hoc and saw all the bunkers and the kids had a great time running in the bombshell craters.
From there we went to the American Cemetary. Though we weren't able to walk on the grass due to the heavy rains, Valerie explained much about the cemetery and memorials that were there. Though we missed Taps it was still very moving.
Valerie dropped us back off at our hotel afterwards. The tour in total was a little over 4 hours long and we thought that the private tour and attention was well worth it. Valerie was professional, highly knowledgeable and very friendly. We highly recommend her!

We had a great day with our tour guide Valerie. She was able to accommodate our large group (6 adults and 2 children) and kept us all engaged throughout the day. We visited all of the major US sites in one day thanks to Valerie's schedule. In my opinion this is very much worth the investment!

Valerie was an excellent tour guide. She was informative without being condescending. She tailored the tour to focus more on Utah Beach due to our request (we had family who fought at Utah Beach), so we appreciate her being willing to adjust from a "normal" tour. She also got us a group rate discount for the Utah Beach museum and even had the museum issue a certificate to us for being relatives of a D-Day veteran. We were impressed.

Our full-day, private tour of the Nornandy beaches. conducted by Valerie Vaultier of Military Might Tours was simply excellent. It could not have been better. Valerie is quite personable and was not only wonderful company but also very well-versed in the area’s history. She gave us unique, firsthand accounts of the Normandy landings and what happened there all those years ago. She took us to museums, beaches and towns and shared what happened in each location. She also didn’t rush us at each stop, but gave us plenty of time to experience what was there. We greatly appreciated her informative but leisurely pace.
We visited the American Airborne sector at Sainte Mere Englise, Utah Beach, the German Cemetery, Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. This tour was especially meaningful to my boyfriend, Ray, because his uncle was one of the brave young Americans who parachuted into Normandy.
Valerie shared a deep and personal knowledge of the area’s history with us. Since her maternal grandfather served in the French army and was arrested by the Gestapo in July,1943 and was a part of the French Resistance, she had a direct, personal connection to that time in history. He was first sent to Buchenwald concentration camp and then on to Dora. Along with thousands of others, his task at "Dora" Kommando was to turn an underground storage facility into a modern factory for the mass production of rockets.
At Dora, prisoners had to fabricate and transport huge machinery and sleep below ground in horrible conditions. There were 2,882 deaths in six months (the bodies were burned at Buchenwald) and 3,000 other prisoners, who were sick, were sent to Maïdanek and Bergen-Belsen to be "eliminated." Valerie's grandfather was among the sick deemed "incurable" and allocated to an extermination convoy. A French officer saved him from this fate and he was assigned to a Radio Kommando as an electrician where he survived and was finally liberated in May,1945.
This family history with its poignant memories, coupled with personal recollections of the D-Day veterans, added depth and interest to her tour. Her English was also impeccable. We highly recommend her tour.

Our day-long tour of the Normandy invasion sites with Military Might D-Day Tours was excellent in all respects. Valerie Vaultier is an excellent tour guide. She picked us up at our hotel on time and in a clean and modern van. Her driving was exemplary and conservative. It’s bad enough to be in a strange place without feeling that you’re taking your life in your hands with an aggressive driver. Her knowledge of the invasion was superior, and she could add personal stories from her own family. We benefitted from the fact that she had grown up in Normandy and spent most of her life there. She adjusted the tour to our particular needs and the amount of time we had. The entire day was enjoyable and inspiring. Of course, it is inspiring because of the subject matter, but Valerie was able to bring out details and nuances that increased our enjoyment. We give our highest recommendation to Military Might D-Day Tours and especially Valerie Vaultier.

We had a two day tour with Valerie and it was amazing. We set it up by email to start and she was at our hotel on time to begin the first day. I had traveled to Omaha and the American cemetery in the past when I rented my car... but the tour was so much more. By the second day we were seeing places o had no chance of navigating to with my own car. Even if one was able to navigate the small farm roads ... 1 ... it would take twice as long... and 2... it would take forever to try and look up all the information on the place. The second day we were joined by a guide... an expert in paratroopers and WWII history... his information and stories were priceless. If you have any interest in learning what the greatest generation did for the world we live in today ... take this tour!!!!
